Seated PWR! Step - Car

Here, Amy demonstrates how the seated PWR! Step can be applied to getting out of your vehicle safely and with ease.

Hi, my name is Amy and I'm a physical therapist here at the PWR!Gym. Today I want to talk to you about why I use the PWR! Step to get out of my car. So I'm sitting here in my simulated car right now, I'm going to show you the step first, I stepped my foot off to the side, reaching my arms out to the side so that my chest stays lifted, bringing that foot back together. Now I'm going to set my other foot to the side, step to the side, and back together. Now using this to get out of the car. I want you to imagine right now that my car door is already open. So I'm going to step my foot out and shift my weight and step this foot out now step, you know, kind of shift my weight forward here, reaching forward and powering up so try that the next time you're trying to get out of the car.
