PWR! Step in Standing - Laundry
Watch as Amy demonstrates how to use the PWR! Step in standing and applies it to safely picking up your laundry basket.
Hi, my name is Amy and I'm a physical therapist here at the PWR!Gym. Today I want to talk to you about why we use the PWR! Step in standing. So showing you the PWR! Step to start. I stepped my foot to the side, turning my toes to the side. I like to reach my arms out to the side too, so that my chest stays lifted, bringing that foot back together. I'm going to do it on the other foot. So I stepped to the side, back together. Okay, I might use this say if I'm in my laundry room, it's kind of a tight space. And I'm going to take my laundry and go put it away. So showing you that here I have my laundry basket picked up. I'm going to turn my toe to the side, stepping through with my other foot. So give that a try when you're turning. Just a really nice way to maintain getting those feet apart with good balance.
